When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is—that she is a sinner.” Luke 7:39
Throughout the Book of Luke we often see Jesus challenging culture, especially the religious culture of the day. Almost like a reversal of the value system. He was constantly teaching and living out radical generosity, servant leadership and forgiveness.
As I read through this Chapter, what stood out to me most was God’s love, grace and forgiveness. I am reminded how easy it is to judge people, especially without knowing their stories. Jesus calls us first to love and forgive.
Lord, may my life reflect you today. That as you have modelled how to love and forgive others, that I will live this out in my own life. Amen.
