1 Peter 5.8

“your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith”

The devil in Greek is “diabolos” meaning false accuser or slanderer. During Jesus temptation in the wilderness, Satan tries to question Jesus identity. “If you are the Son of God….”. He still tries this same accusation against us, questioning our identity. But as Jesus used the scriptures to refute Satan. So we too can say

“Abba, Father, the Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God”

Romans 8.16

Apply //

If we know who we are, loved children of the Most High, known by the King and loved by the King we can be at peace. And here’s proof: He wants to know everything that worries us, so that He can take the burden, just like a dad likes to hear the worries of his children- v7:

“cast all your anxieties upon him because he cares for you”

Try saying this when things are tough.

Follow it up with Romans 8.16 and we have a peace and strength beyond what we thought possible.

Pray //

Thank you for your promises in your word that tell me I am your child and you love me.
