First Time Visiting?
What can I expect at a Newlife service?
Our heart is to combine the rich tradition of our history with the contemporary gifts of the modern church. Our services begin with sung worship, usually with a contemporary band. One of our pastors or members will share a sermon, usually going for about thirty minutes, followed again by more sung worship. On the first Sunday of every month, we take communion together.
During a service, you will also hear updates on events, community outreach and other aspects of church life in which you can get involved. Come early or stay late for a chance to connect with people over tea and coffee!
How long does the service go for?
Around eighty minutes. Sometimes, we will continue in worship if it feels appropriate. There is no pressure to stay for this time, but we’d encourage you to do so if you’re meeting with God personally.
What should I wear?
Our services are informal and relaxed. Wear what you feel comfortable in!
I have children. What do they do during the service?
During our morning gathering, we have a full kids program for children from 6 months to twelve. Simply arrive early with them to the rooftop where you will see our check-in desk. From there, check them in with our leaders and keep them with you during the service until we send them out. As they go, you’re most welcome to go with them to see our kids space.
Our hope is that this would help you safely familiarise yourself with our kids ministry! Of course, you’re welcome to keep your children in the service with you, if you’d prefer!
How do I get into the city?
We recommend taking public transport or driving. There’s plenty of stations within walking distance: Central Train Station, King George Square Bus Station, and more. Simply aim for one of these and walk on over!
Is there on-site parking?
Being a city-centre church, parking is tricky! We recommend a few different options. One of our team members has put together a map and stack of options. Updated last on the 13th of March, 2025. Check it out here.
What if it’s my first time? Will I be singled-out?
If you’re visiting for the first time, we’d love to connect with you, but won’t make you stand up in front of everyone!
